Work in group of five. Four group members represent scientists who want to get money to complete their projects. Each scientist will introduce his or her project and explain why it is the most important. One member will listen to all the scientists and ask questions. At the end of the discussion, he or she must decide who will get the money and why.

1.Do these achievements have anything in common? If so, what? 这些成就有相同之处吗？如果有相同点，是什么呢？
(1) have in common with固定短语，表示“和……有共同之处”之意，in common表示“共同的，公共的”，另有短语in common with为“与……一起，和……一样”之意。
He has a lot in common with his brother. 他和他的哥哥有许多相同之处。
They have nothing in common with another. 他们彼此毫无共同点。

(2) If so…为If it is so…的简略形式。其中的so为“这样，如此”之意。
